Body Skin Tightening
All skin has the same two proteins that account for its structure and ability to stretch and contract: collagen and elastin. As we age, the amount of each decreases leaving signs of aging which shows in skin laxity, wrinkles, folds, and creping. The skin of the body, while thicker than that of the face, tends to stretch and contract in high mobility areas but also with the fluctuation of weight and increase and decrease of body volume resulting in higher breakdowns of the cellular matrix and protein structures
In order to prevent and repair these signs of aging, we must repair, restore and regenerate the proteins of the extracellular matrix; collagen and elastin.
At Simply Skin, we use Genius Radiofrequency Microneedling to regenerate and restore the collagen on the face and body. Genius uses insulated Microneedles that transfer RF waves into the skin at different energies and depths to create a coagulation that our body heals by producing collagen and elastin.
Genius RF microneedling may be used on any area of the body; with a larger treatment head than that of the face, larger areas are easily treated. Areas that may show signs of aging that can need treatment include: thighs, underarms, knees, elbows, abdomen, flanks, décolletage, chest, etc.

Similar to the treatment the face, the patients will have numbing placed on the area of treatment for an hour prior to treatment. The genius hand piece will be fitted with a larger body tip attachment and the hand piece will be pressed into the skin and pulsed in overlapping patterns for a total of 2 passes. In general, the skin of the body is tricker and therefore less painful, it is expected to feel heat and minor discomfort. After the treatment the skin will be cooled and treated with an aftercare product before being sent home with post-care instructions.
Genius is a minimal downtime treatment. Normal activity may be resumed after 24 hours (excluding activity with excess soaking like swimming, hot tubs and baths which may be resumed after 3 days). It is expected to be red at the treated area which will subside within 1-2 days, slight dryness and peeling may occur for a week but may be treated with Aquaphor.
